Character/Alignment/Role: 'Oh look a protagonist! clearly they are 'good'!' Ahhhh, it's not quite that simple with Crow. Crow does indeed have extremely positive beliefs when it comes to the whole good vs evil set up, but that's really not a hard thing to do when it comes to matters such as invading demon gods. Good is right, he's very good.
However he's not going to be very law abiding while he's being 'very good', and for that reason, he gets a nice shiny 'Chaotic Good' on his alignment spot. His role in both canon and the AU after all is tertiary protagonist- not to mention he was slated to be the main ANTAGONIST before executive meddling with the series, but I digress... He certainly takes after his AU father.
Description of AU!World: In a crossover with an aspect/interpretation of Marvel's main line (Earth 616), Crow is Loki's son. Now bear with on that, there's more to it...
Essentially, during the time between getting his own body back and the moment of his death, Loki got in with a short red-headed scientist to try and get in on something called the 'Momentum Project'; the descriptions of the energies seemed a little too familiar to that of the World Tree's (and what do you know, he was right!). Go figure, he actually started falling for her. And then died. Whoops.
At any rate, around that time, Zero Reverse would happen, destroying a large chunk of domino and splitting it in two, creating Satellite. Crow's mother would survive long enough to give birth, but in the end would not live to see her son. Her son in question would not only go through life entirely unaware of his heritage, but with his abilities (And also Jack's abilities!) largely dampened by the presence of the momentum beneath the ground. Funny that.
So where's Loki in all of this? (And what does Jack have to do with it??) Well, when Loki died he split his essence into seven magpies, each with a role to fulfill in his revival. One of them however would 'defect' so to speak, the fragment with his memories of Crow's mother, and all that concerned her- including his love for her. With the presence of the momentum, the bird was able to somewhat shatter the power that Loki's spell had over his fragments; Loki would revive in the end yes, but he would lack his magic power, and more importantly the memories the magpie had... Which included the idea that his lack of magic would be suspicious. This magpie flew, you see, to meet with his love, only to find a corpse and an infant. And so the bird would watch over Crow, from a distance.
As for Jack? Evidently his mother looked quite 'familiar' to a certain 'Donald Blake'; until the events in 'Background' below, neither Jack nor Thor were aware of this happenstance, and what with Jack's mother dying in Zero Reverse...
TL;DR, Crow's half frost giant and suddenly his trickster tendencies make hilarious amounts of sense.
Personality: Ahhh Crow. Thankfully not much different from Canon, if not a little more ferocious about his 'equal rights'; just what makes Neo Domino so much better than Satellite? PAH!
Crow's a strange mix of idealism and realism to say the least. On the one hand, he's still got a bit of childishness to him, an eager and competitive drive to do what he wants. He tends to be easily dragged into arguments and challenges once his ability is questioned, and often times if things start moving too quickly he'll slip up with his strategy and react without thinking. The latter takes a fair bit of stress to happen, mind you; he's quite adept at thinking on his feet, and while he's managed to hold true to his claim that he's 'never told a lie', he's certainly good at misleading people regardless. It's his 'trickster' side in a sense; he's not above stealing to help others, heck, he has those criminal marks for a reason! And if the going gets tough, you can expect a solid punch in the face.
He has a strong sense of 'justice' you see, albeit the sort that comes on the streets. His friends, his closest friends, are his 'family', and the kids he cared for during Satellites 'slum days' are his life. If they are wronged, he will stand up for them with fierce resolve. And if they are the ones in the wrong? He assuredly won't let anyone forget it; and he can often be quite cruel about that in fact, grinning as he berates whatever his friend has done wrong.
Crow is extremely intelligent when it comes to action, strategy- improvisation and battle, the things he needed. He was in a gang at one time, and that was from an INCREDIBLY young age; these traits are things he had to develop to survive. It's thus no surprise that his morals are loose when it comes to the larger picture, but that isn't to say he's blind to them. Now that he doesn't need to steal, he doesn't. And even earlier, he warned 'his kids' off of it, though potentially for their own safety instead.
For all of his cheer and temper you see, he's quite responsible as well. When he and his friends (arguably brothers in all but blood really) move to Neo Domino, he's the one who first gets a job. He's the one who looks after the budget, berating Jack for not working and constantly warning those in the home when they're in the 'red'. When it comes to serious matters, things that affect life completely- that's when he hones his focus in, and if that focus is in the battle sense, well.
You had better run.
In short? He's a mischievous, typically optimistic sort, and while he understands the reality of things he still has great hopes for a better future. He's not above trickery and theft to turn things around, and after all it's for the best in the end so there's really no need to fret right? His temper and shock can be taken advantage of to some extent however, and given how easily the shock is triggered, it can be rather amusing to try and explain things to him. Otherwise, he's very quick to the chase, and tends to adapt remarkably well to most situations... Heck, look how quick he decided to help Yuusei with the matter of the earthbound gods- which by all human laws, shouldn't even exist.
Background: Canon information can be found
here. Differences are detailed below.
Growing up in Satellite was rough for everyone really. Living alone for the first five years of his life in fact, Crow barely survived on stolen food and worn shelters, with the first few months of his life barely passed through with a combination of inherited ability and the watchful eye of a 'white winged crow'. Even his name wasn't 'his' at the start; he misheard what someone said, and took that word as his own.
When he was five, he would meet Yuusei and Jack. And through them, meet Martha, who would take him into her home along with them. He grew up alongside them, but in the end they all agreed they couldn't live with Martha forever; Satellite was a harsh place, and it was hard enough to feed yourself let alone three growing boys. So with Jack at 14, Yuusei 13, and Crow a mere 12, they set out to find a place of their own... And found, in the end, Kiryu Kyousuke.
With Kiryu they would form 'Team Satisfaction'; they would unite Satellite under their control through either duels, or in the case of what gangs formed of mutant-powered humans, force. And then in the end it all fell apart... Strangely enough, it would be through following a curious looking crow with white wings that he would meet the next group of people he stayed with after that.
Of course, in the end, it didn't last; Pearson died in a fire, and Bolger left Satellite altogether. He himself stayed behind to look after the kids that the two men had cared for until then. Eventually the events of the Dark Signers would rise up, and even more chaos would follow; chaos would again settle, and he and the others would move to Neo Domino as Satellite was re-connected to Japan.
The communication barrier between it and the rest of the world would dissolve. And with it, so much more would happen.
It would occur in 'Houra-son', or 'Crashtown', in the frigid north of Hokkaido. The mess of the gang war that a revived Kiryu had been pulled into were already complicated by his re-appeared mutanism; thanks to the former use of Ccapac-Apu's powers during the war of the Dark Signers, he had gained the curious ability to possess anything with eyes, living or even inanimate.
When the death of one man led to the mountain's explosion into a gate to hell however? When monsters of all sorts surged forward, an enormous hel-wolf staring him down and accusing him of a 'familiar scent'?
It was chaos beyond anything they had ever seen, and when he was thrown back he reacted instinctively. He saw the wolf turn to charge his friends, and so drew from whatever was in his power to strike back.
Crow did not realize that his birthright was already visible, blue-white skin and red eyes replacing his typical appearance. He did not realize that, with the distance between himself and the wells of momentum in Neo Domino, his power was in fact far greater than 'mere mortals'. The hel-wolf would be blasted back with fierce winds, and while his appearance and ability confused his friends and he himself, there was no time to question it.
In the aftermath of the battle, there would be. 'You're blue!' 'Yea I noticed!' He and Jack would tussle a bit in their squabbling, while Kiryu and Yuusei turned to those watching.
The matter of Houra-son did not go unnoticed after all; those who had, 17 years ago, re-created the 'Young Avengers'- Miss America Chavez and Loki himself, now stood there.
And when the 'white feathered crow' that watched over them was caught by those two, a number of things would be revealed to both sides. As to what would come of it, who knew; the last Crow remembers is falling asleep in a bed to get over the insanity of 'Houra-Son'.
Waking up in the middle of a crossroads was the last of his expectations.
Pokemon: Weaville! Just look at that feathery crest!! (Not to mention the whole Jotunn -> ice thing, and the theft, and the speed... And the 'black'...)
As for what Crow keeps, he gets to keep a few things! First off, his criminal markers are still there, same as his signer mark (though the latter is much more difficult to see). He also has his earrings... But who knows, he'll probably change those out for some other dangly thing.
Fun fact! Due to where the Weaville gem sits, his 'M' mark looks ridiculous now.
Personality Test 1. You're in class when you realize that you really have to go to the restroom! What do you do?
Wait I'm taking cla-
SHIT NO ONE TOLD ME I WAS TAKING A CLASS- WHAT AM I EVEN TAKING A CLASS FOR GUYS!?
[So frantic is he to wonder why he's in a school, he completely forgets he needs to pee.]
2. Your friend is running a little late to meet you. Is that OK?
Sheesh, this is a pain...
Better not take too long... [The longer it takes, the more grumbly he'll get. ...And then if there's no word by morning he'll be horribly worried.]
3. You fail miserably! Everyone found out, and they're disappointed in you... What do you do?
Wh-
No... No I- That can't be right! I'll fix this! I'll fix it, this isn't right!
[What Crow has failed is far more dire than a mere 'test'.]
4. You've been asked to do a difficult task. What will you do?
Well if I said I'd do it, I said I'd do it right? [Laughing]
If it's not easy then there's not much else I can do about that right? Just gotta deal with it! [Grin!]
5. Do you think that, no matter what, life goes on?
Eh?
What kind of question is that? [Ahahahaha...] I guess... Of course the answer is 'yes'! No matter what, you have to keep going right? If there's even a chance to fix things, you have to take it!
Sample RP: Crow was not one to give in. Giving in easily was especially not on his list of 'to-dos', but giving up at all simply wasn't a suggestion. The weaville grinned as he stepped forward in the cave, clawed fingers cracking as the brilliantly coloured gems gleamed across from him. "Ehehehehe... Alright," he laughed, looking over the stone. "Now lets see what you get back in Treasure town~"
That was the plan at least.
However as he attempted to pull it out, he found it didn't move. "What the-" He frowned, releasing the stone and inspecting it more closely. "Weird, it's jutting out enough that it should come out fine..." The frown deepened. "Should at least shift a bit," he added, muttering to himself. The more he stared the more an idea grew in the back of his mind however, and with a sudden grin he laughed loudly.
"HAH! Of course!" Reaching for the stone he pushed forward, grinning. "If I do this it should loosen a little-"
-click-
"Heh?"
There was no doubt that questions of 'why are you wet' would arise when he came home later that evening, but in the end he supposed it was all in a day's work.
The hot springs had certainly eased the sting of 'failure' in the end really.
